Sabrina Yates

I was born and raised in Corona, California, a small town not too far from L.A.. In 2015, I moved to Massachusetts where I studied English at Harvard University. I’ve always had a spirit of exploration, so during college I studied and worked in Japan, Germany, and England. Throughout all the stages in my journey, I made good food a priority, whether in a tiny dorm room kitchen, a rooftop restaurant in London, or at a host family’s house in the Japanese countryside. I first became vegetarian as a teenager, and recently have gravitated to a more exclusively plant based diet. I love traveling and trying new cuisines with the unique challenge of maintaining a plant based or at least vegetarian diet. Now, I live in Brooklyn and work for an education consulting firm in Manhattan. As a new New Yorker, I’m getting to know the Big Apple one bite at a time.

My 5 Favorite Vegan Ingredients: Avocados (for everything!), oat milk (for creaminess), chickpeas (for protein), mushrooms, and cauliflower (for texture).

My 3 Favorite Vegan Dishes:Thai Coconut Curry, Falafel burgers, Buddha bowls.

Currently Working On: I work full-time as a college consultant, helping ambitious students get into college. Additionally, I create content for the company’s website and manage our social media accounts. In my spare time, I love weight-lifting and writing short stories.

My Life Motto: Everything works out in the end. If it doesn’t, you just haven’t reached the end yet.
