A Cookbook For Everyone
Vegan Holiday Cooking – 60 Meatless, Dairy-Free Recipes Full of Festive Flavors is blogger and recipe developer Kirsten Kaminski’s debut cookbook. Kirsten is the founder of The Tasty K, an online platform where she’s been sharing videos and delectable plant-based creations, many of which are creative veganized versions of traditionally non-vegan dishes.
Her book is the perfect guide for the holidays (from Thanksgiving to Christmas and even Easter) and includes recipes for appetizers, main dishes, desserts and drinks. Looking through the pages makes you want to recreate and eat every single one of them and it’s ideal for both vegans and non-vegan (or vegans trying to impress non-vegans!).
Not Just For The Holidays
While the theme of this cookbook is festive, plenty of the recipes can be made all year round and are great even for those who don’t celebrate certain holidays. From root vegetable tarts to a decadent vegan tiramisu and chocolate caramel mousse domes, you’ll find an option for your dinner parties, family feasts, anniversaries and so much more. Some of the recipes that serve a larger group of people also make for ideal meal prep options, whether you live alone, with family or roommates.
To “veganize” a recipe means to replace non-vegan ingredients with plant-based alternatives that will result in a similar taste and texture. This allows people who made the decision to remove animal products for ethical and/or environmental reasons to still enjoy the flavors and dishes they grew up eating, thereby making the switch much easier and less overwhelming. Vegan Holiday Cooking includes a mix of both veganized and more vegetable-centric recipes.
